Single boys
Many people either buy a single boy in a pet shop or unfortunately one of a pair of boys dies living a single piggie.
Single piggies need company, simple as.
I can now offer boar bonding. If you have a single boy who needs a friend and you dont want to go through neutering then I can try and bond him with a boy here. It will entail leaving your piggie here for about a week.
Stages of bonding
You bring your piggie to the rescue and I will show you the possible matches
I put both piggies in a neutural pen and see what happens initially under supervision
Both piggies are then put back in seperate hutches and are rotated daily
Each day the piggies come out for socialisation under supervision gradually building up the time
Hopefully after a week they have found a friend they can live with 24 hours a day
(there are other methods of bonding which I use, lap time with veggies and putting them straight into a pen together and watching them for a few hours)
Cost of bonding
If you would like to try and bond with one of the rescues piggies then just the adoption fee is applicable, obviously anything else is greatly appreciated (please see wish list)
If you have 2 single boys and would like me to try and bond them then I would really appreciate something off the wish list for the rescue.
Success
No guarantees are made, I have had successes and failures in the past. I have at the rescue 2 boars who are 4yrs and 5 yrs old who I have paired together and now live happily together. I do find the bigger space they have the better. The easiest bond with males is a baby with an older piggie. These bondings dont need to come and stay as they can be done within a few hours. If I am not 100% happy then I will say.
